TESTING AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

Testing can be provided In House, if required, by qualified personnel. The following is a list of In House testing services conducted and their use.

Solidification Simulation – used to test the mould set-up before pouring, so as to produce a sound and solid casting in production

Spectrometer

Spectrographic Analysis of all cast metals – used for each batch of metal produced and testing samples for material selection for a new casting.

Hardness Testing – used to regularly check the castings in production against the respective standard and for assisting in material selection for new castings.

 Rockwell Hardness tester
Microscope Metallographic Examination – used to check the structure of the material during and after production and for assisting in material selection for new castings.

Crack Detection – used during and after production to ensure a sound casting.

A "third party" test of castings can be arranged, if required, in which case the services of a National Accredited Testing Authority (NATA) contractor are used. The following are some of the services that can be organised through NATA contractors.
